Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Information Gates Ltd. (“iGates,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Documento mobile application (the “App”). By using the App you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Our privacy approach
Documento is an offline document viewer. It works without an account, and the documents you open, convert to PDF, or extract from archives are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your documents to our servers, and we do not have access to their contents. References to your recently opened files are stored only on your device.
2. Information we collect
We collect very little ourselves. Most data is collected by the third-party services the App uses, described below.
- Information you provide. If you contact us (e.g., by email for support), we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message.
- Your documents — not collected. Files you open, convert, or extract are handled on-device only and are not transmitted to us.
- Usage & device data. Through Google Firebase Analytics we collect app-usage events and technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, language/region, and a pseudonymous app-instance identifier, to understand how the App is used and improve it.
- Crash diagnostics. Through Google Firebase Crashlytics we collect crash reports and related device state (e.g., OS version, device model, and a crash-instance identifier) so we can fix problems.
- Advertising data. In the free, ad-supported version, Google AdMob collects data such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device information, and ad interactions to serve and measure ads. See “Advertising and your choices” below.
- Push messaging. If push messaging is enabled, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging processes a device registration token so we can deliver notifications.
- Subscriptions. Documento Pro is sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. We receive a subscription/purchase identifier and status, which our server validates to confirm your entitlement.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the App and deliver engine updates;
- To understand usage and improve features, performance, and stability;
- To diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues;
- To display and measure advertising in the free version;
- To verify and manage Documento Pro subscriptions and entitlements;
- To respond to your requests and provide support;
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the security and integrity of the App.
4. Advertising and your choices
The free version is supported by ads via Google AdMob. Where required by law (e.g., the EEA and UK), the App presents a consent request through Google’s User Messaging Platform before serving personalized ads; on iOS it may present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can choose non-personalized ads where offered, change your choice in your device’s settings, and reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings. Subscribing to Documento Pro removes ads.
5. Third-party services
The App relies on the following service providers, each with its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising (free version) | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) | Usage analytics, crash reporting, push messaging | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | App distribution & subscription billing | apple.com/legal/privacy · policies.google.com/privacy |
The App also includes open-source components; attributions are listed in the App’s Legal screen.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process data on these bases: your consent (for personalized advertising and, where required, analytics); our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the App, including crash diagnostics); and performance of a contract (to provide and manage Documento Pro). You may withdraw consent at any time through the in-app consent options and your device settings.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf or under their own policies, and where required to comply with law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the App.
8. Data retention
Recent-file references and your settings remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the App. Analytics, crash, and advertising data are retained by the respective providers per their policies and our configured retention settings. Subscription-status records are kept for as long as needed to manage entitlements and meet legal/accounting obligations.
9. Security
We use reasonable, commercially acceptable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) provided by those providers.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of personalized advertising, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at documento@igates.co.il. You also control analytics/ads through the in-app consent options and your device settings.
12. Children’s privacy
Documento is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your region). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App or store listing. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
